CONDITIONS:

I agree to provide the fostered cat/kitten(s) with a temporary home in my residence, with appropriate food and water available as instructed.
I agree to keep the cat in my home at all times and not transfer it to any other party. In my residence it will be held securely indoors, with screens and extra security (sticks) in any windows that might be opened and without access to any easy escape to outdoors.
I understand that the foster animals are NOT social and are capable of causing serious injury to people/pets. I agree to take precautions to prevent injuries and will not hold the CRPAWS or any individuals responsible for injuries should they occur. Any injuries will be reported to the directors as soon as practically possible.
I understand that there is the potential for the animals to cause damage to my personal property and will take appropriate steps to prevent it.
I understand that the animals may take time to adjust to their new surrounds. I will notify the directors of any adjustment difficulties and ask for assistance if there are problems.
I understand that before coming into my care the animals will have received flea treatment that will be effective for one month from application. They may have or carry undiagnosed diseases that may be transferable to people or other animals, particularly cats. Some examples are parasites and feline immunodeficiency viruses, so it is strongly recommended that any household cats be up to date with vaccines (at my expense).
I agree to closely monitor and record the animal’s daily habits, behaviour, and health and update the directors on a regular basis. Directors are to be contacted immediately if any health issue arises or if I am aware that the animal has escaped my house. If it cannot be located inside within a period of more than 1 hour in the case of feral cats, and 3 hours for semi-feral (non-caged) cats a director must be notified.
I agree to comply with any required administration of medications/vaccines as instructed by the directors or their veterinarians. If I am unable to do so the directors will be notified with sufficient time to make other arrangements.
I understand that if I require any supplies I will notify the directors with adequate time for them to respond and that I will not be reimbursed for any expenses that were not previously approved by a director. Receipts must be submitted.
I agree not to expose the animal to any cats (other than any resident cats).
While I am a volunteer with CRPAWS I will not foster or re-home any cats/kittens that are not under the care/jurisdiction of CRPAWS or the SPCA.
If I am no longer able to continue fostering an animal I will notify a director and make every effort to keep it until a replacement foster is arranged.
I agree that the animal will be given back to the directors upon request and that the decision on its future will be made by the directors, upon considering the recommendation of the foster caregiver.
Should I decide I would like to adopt the animal I will notify my coordinator in writing as soon as the decision is made and prior to it being placed for adoption. The adoption will then be done via the usual process through CRPAWS, unless there are special circumstances.
I understand that CRPAWS will not be held legally liable for damage/injury/illness, to property, people, or my own animals that may be caused by the foster animals.
I agree not to post any pictures of foster kittens in my care to CRPAWS public page as well as my own personal media. I understand this does not apply to adult foster cats in my care.
